PharMedQuest sends its congratulations to the University of Southern California Pharmacy School for coming in at #9 on US News & World Report‘s 2016 rankings of the best pharmacy schools in the nation. According to Pharmacy Times, “schools were ranked on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding) based on peer assessment surveys distributed to deans, administrators, and faculty at accredited schools. These surveys were conducted in fall 2015 for the 2016 rankings. US News & World Report surveyed 125 Doctor of Pharmacy programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the response rate was 40%.”

We welcomed students from the USC School of Pharmacy for a site visit in 2012.
PharMedQuest is committed to helping train and educate the next generation of pharmacists and regularly hosts students from area schools, including USC School of Pharmacy, Western University of Health Sciences, Chapman University, Loma Linda University Health and University of the Pacific.
PharMedQuest also offers a Fellowship program at the University of Southern California. The program is run by Jerry Chang, VP of Business Services for PharMedQuest and Associate Professor Jeffrey McCombs of USC. Chang and McCombs designed a two-year, pre-doctoral fellowship that aims to examine the cost and value of a given treatment to a patient regimen.

As part of the fellowship, the student will write a publication focusing on specialty drug management and present posters at the annual meetings of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. Cho-Han Lee received the inaugural award and started his fellowship in August of this year. He presented a poster at the recent AMCP Annual Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Meeting on April 20th with his findings for “Brand Name Drug Utilization among Medicaid Patients in 340B Clinics”.
